The purity of the works transgresses in a variety of ways and in different contexts: historical, social and personal. These paintings offer us an exploration of how the contexts in which ones’ lives develops, leaves an imprint on artistic creation.

In this aspect the work of the artist Nancy van Overveldt, born in The Hague on the 2nd of February 1930, is exemplary. There she studied at the Royal Academy of Art and immersed herself within the artistic circles of those times.

Inspired by the endless possibilities to combine colors she went to Paris to study at the Académie André Lhote where she experimented with different techniques and styles, gradually crafting her own personal style. Subsequently, she decided to embark and set sail for a yet unknown world to her: Mexico.
